Deep tissue massage is a full-body treatment performed on a massage table.
Deep tissue massage is mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues but has both physical ans psychological benefits. On a physical level this massage helps to reduce tension, pain and stiffness while also providing stress-relief and relaxation to the body and mind.
Before the massage we will discuss areas of concern and the focus and goals of the massage. Deep tissue massage can sometimes be uncomfortable as it targets the deeper muscles and tensions within them but I will always adjust the pressure and technique to ensure as much comfort as possible while working on the problem areas.
To round off the deeper work and to enter a deep state of relaxation, you will also receive a dreamy head a face massage.

After a deep tissue massage it is best to rest and relax. Take it easy, avoid vigorous exercise, drink plenty of water and get a good night's sleep. The body continues to work even after the massage.

How often should you have a deep tissue massage?
For chronic muscle tension or pain you may benefit from receiving deep tissue massage on a regular basis, like once a week or every two weeks. This will help release tension in the deeper muscles and improve overall mobility.
For stress and anxiety you may benefit from deep tissue massage on a more occasional basis , like once a month or as needed. Massage helps calm the mind and promotes relaxation.
To support physical performance it's advised to receive deep tissue massage before and after competitions or training sessions in order to reduce muscle tension and pain, improve mobility and enhance performance.
